Top 4 Places for Real Estate Agents to Get Reviews and Why
Google isn’t the only game in town when it comes to reviews. And even Google looks at your presence across the internet, not just your Google Business Profile. So we need to get reviews on platforms other than Google.
Below are four places you should get reviews and why. And you can access my full Local SEO Platforms List for Real Estate Agents here.
1) Google
Reasons to get reviews on Google:
Google is obviously the yellow pages of today and is still the biggest when it comes to reviews, local information, and searches. And it’s defninitely the leader for getting leads as a direct result of reviews. And if you factor in that when people ask AI’s other than Gemini for a real estate agent, they are using Google data as part of answering that question. So it’s a no-brainer to have a Google Business Profile and put most of your reviews there. I don’t think I have to explain or convince on this one very much.
Connects directly with the number one search ads platform. So if you want to run ads, having a lot of reviews directly on Google is a good thing for the conversion rate of your ads.
Though Google blocks some AI’s from seeing all your Google Business Profile review information (mainly ChatGPT I believe. Claude has access.), you can ensure that AI’s see all your hard earned Google testimonials by signing up for a couple aggregator sites like Experience.com and BirdEye. They pull in your reviews from multiple places (including Google), and they are big on SEO and want AI’s and Google and all the crawlers to see their information, so the AI’s can see your Google reviews via the aggregator sites that also display them. Properly setting up your reviews pages on your website can help with this and is highly recommended as part of any good reviews and reputation management strategy.

2) Zillow
Reasons to get reviews on Zillow:
It’s the largest industry site for real estate, so Google and AI’s look at it and like to see you there and looking good.
In my experience, after Google, this is second place for the most leads directly as a result of reviews.
All the AI’s will see it and include it with all your reviews when people ask for a Realtor in your area or ask AI about you specifically. Again, it’s the biggest real estate industry site.
Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, and some other Business Directory services don’t have their own review systems, so they pull in reviews from elsewhere. And they don’t pull in Google Reviews (I think because Google blocks that from happening because it’s their hard earned local data), so if you want to have reviews on Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, etc, you need to have reviews on other places. Zillow is one of the platforms they pull from.
Google will pull your Zillow reviews over and display them on your Google Business Profile along with your Google Business Profile Reviews as “Reviews from the Web”:

3) Yelp
Reasons to get reviews on Yelp:
Most agents do not have any reviews here, and if they do, it’s only a few. So to be the winner on this platform, it doesn’t take much.
Google and all the AI’s seem to love Yelp for whatever reason right now. They will include and cite it with all your reviews when people ask for a Realtor in your area or ask AI about you specifically.
Yelp is one of the platforms they pull from.

4) Facebook Business Page
Reasons to get reviews on Facebook:
It is consistently sited as one of the top platforms that consumers go to in order to vet a business. If someone searches for a specific business (a “branded search”), Facebook Business Pages are usually on page one of the results (assuming all their business information is consistent).
It’s the only social platform that you can get reviews on that I know of. Other than LinkedIn recommendations (which I don’t think gets registered by Google or AI’s as “reviews”) and Tik Tok (but that process is quite hard to accomplish (the Tik Tok review getting process as I know it… Someone has to post something and check in at your location/business, then they will be prompted afterwards to give a review if they want).
Connects directly with one of the top ads platforms (Meta). So if you want to run ads, having a lot of reviews directly on Facebook/Meta is a good thing for conversion rate of your ads.
As of right now, and as far as I know (if you know differently, let me know), there is no spam filter or blocking of reviews on Facebook like with Google, Yelp, etc. As long as someone has a Facebook profile, than can give a review and it will show up on the business’s page. And though I’ve never given a review as one of my business pages before, that is also possible. So you get every review you get… no “She said she gave me a review, but I don’t see it on my Google Business Profile”.
Easier to get on Facebook. Post something on Facebook (linking to your Facebook Business Page’s reviews section) asking for reviews… Since this is keeping them on the same platform, and they are already logged into and on the app, the barrier for them to leave a review is very low. And Facebook’s algorithm is possibly less likely to supress your post because of linking to soemthing off the platform.
All the AI’s will see it and include it with all your reviews when people ask for a Realtor in your area or ask AI about you specifically.
