You Need More Than 5 Reviews to Run Google Local Services Ads
New unofficial requirements for connecting a Google Business Profile to Local Services Ads
For Google Local Services Ads, it used to be that you needed 5 reviews on a verified Google Business Profile as the minimum requirement in order to run Local Services Ads (as it relates to reviews and the Google Business Profile item in the business verification process).
But now, new profiles are having to wait longer. I have multiple that have over 5 reviews, but are still not eligible to connect to Local Services Ads.
Is there something Google changed in the requirements? Anything documented by Google anywhere? Is the only thing officially on public record say 5 reviews? I tried to find anything else regarding age of profile, number of reviews, or any other definitive requirement in writing from Google for the vetting process they use to allow someone to connect a Google Business Profile to Local Services Ads, but didn’t find anything.
Though I wasn’t able to find any offical updated or expanded requirements for running Local Services Ads, I’m pretty sure they’ve revised things behind the scenes. And hopefully they fill us in on the new rules soon. Maybe when Local Services Ads officially migrates over to the regular Google Ads dashboard [in process as we speak] there will be new updated requirements published by Google.
